Patina

Time acts as a silent scribe upon the surface of the leather.

The scuffs of daily life and the delicate etches of a touch are gradually absorbed, becoming inseparable from the leather’s soul.
In light-filled environments, you may notice the colour mellowing into a lighter, chalkier hue

—this is simply the authentic breath of the material as it lives alongside you.

Aftercare

Care for your leather with a light touch.

A regular dusting with a dry cloth suffices for day-to-day use.
A subtle coat of oil, applied just once or twice a year,
preserves the hide’s resilience and encourages the surface to develop a rich, seasoned character over time.

Patina

With every use, the surface of the leather gains a refined smoothness, gradually cloaking itself in a quiet, subdued lustre.

Over the vast passage of time and the gentle influence of ultraviolet light, the hide may evolve further, occasionally revealing delicate cracks upon its surface.

—quiet testaments to the time it has carried.

Aftercare

A simple wipe with a dry cloth is all that is required; consider making this a gentle weekly ritual.

Should you notice any marks, use a cloth dampened with lukewarm water and wrung out thoroughly, wiping softly to ensure no excess moisture remains.

This leather features a protective coating designed to shield it from the elements.

As such, standard creams will not penetrate the surface and, depending on the type,

may adversely affect the leather’s character and its natural evolution over time.

Essential Care | Maintenance Oil

Specially formulated with the same oils used during the original tanning process. This oil is designed to preserve the leather’s natural durability and integrity. (Please note: this product does not provide stain resistance.)

Advanced Care | Beeswax Balm

The water-repellent properties of beeswax form a protective barrier on the leather's surface, slowing the absorption of moisture and reducing the risk of water-based stains. Additionally, beeswax minimises friction-related wear, enhancing the overall durability of the leather.

Natural character and charm
"Lightly finished leather"

Leathers that convey the raw allure of the material are what we call 'lightly finished'.
The inherent quality of a hide is revealed through the fineness of its grain and the absence of blemishes.
肌がきめ細かく、傷が少ない革は希少。だからこそ価値がある、「薄化粧」の革です。

Practicality for upholstery
"Heavily finished leather"

On the other hand, there are leathers designed for effortless daily use. These are known as "heavily finished" where the surface is thoroughly protected with a robust coating.
By enveloping the hide in this protective layer, the leather becomes highly resistant to stains and scuffing, ensuring ease of maintenance and a consistent quality. As this process allows for a broader selection of raw hides, it also represents excellent value for money.
To fit seamlessly into one's lifestyle and provide peace of mind for years to come—this, too, is what defines "fine leather."

Natural markings

Leather that retains the grain layer—the outer surface of the hide—without being buffed.
By preserving the strongest part of the fibre structure, it offers exceptional durability alongside a truly authentic character.
The natural markings of the animal’s life, such as scars and blemishes, remain visible, defining its unique appearance.

  • Growth marks

Natural neck wrinkles and creases formed during the animal's life. The appearance of these markings varies depending on the hide’s origin; they manifest more prominently around the belly and joints, lending the leather its distinct character.

  • Surface scuffs / Grazes

ou may occasionally notice a subtle, granular texture when touching the surface. This is a natural result of the original hide's condition and is one of the many unique characteristics that define the leather’s individual personality.

  • Healed blemish

Scars and marks acquired during the animal’s life. In certain areas, you may notice a slightly firmer texture; however, where the leather’s structural integrity and durability remain uncompromised, these natural features are retained as part of the hide's authentic charm.

  • Pinholes / Insect bites

Small punctures or markings caused by insects and other natural elements. These are subtle signs of the time the leather has spent in the wild—a testament to its life.

  • Veining

As the leather ages and the colour deepens over time, these natural markings may gradually emerge, adding a unique and evolving character to the piece.
